05/14/2010 - Rome, Italy (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Serie A title race has come down to the final day with defending champions Inter Milan holding a two-point lead on second-placed Roma.
Inter can secure its fourth successive Scudetto with a win at relegated Siena, while Roma also hits the road to face mid-table Chievo.
The Nerazzurri nearly clinched the title last weekend as they beat Chievo, 4-3, while Roma trailed Cagliari 1-0 with just over 10 minutes to play. A loss or draw by the capital club would have put an end to their title hopes, but captain Francesco Totti scored twice to keep his team in the hunt.
Roma last lifted the trophy in 2001, and they will need a small miracle to do so again this season, with Inter poised to claim its second of potentially three titles this season.
Jose Mourinho's side has already won the Coppa Italia by beating Roma, and they are set to face Bayern Munich in the final of the Champions League next Saturday.
Mourinho believes his team is well on course to capture the treble, and he has tried to draw Roma boss Claudio Ranieri into a war of words after Inter's win in the Coppa Italia. But Ranieri has not taken the bait, instead he is focusing on his side's preparations for Sunday's match.
Ranieri has done a great job since taking over at Roma, including a 24-game winning streak that briefly took his side to the top of the table.
If nothing else, he has at least returned Roma to the Champions League for next season, but a Serie A title might be a bit out of reach.
AC Milan finishes up its campaign on Saturday against Juventus, with Milan manager Leonardo announcing that he will step down following the match, while Lazio hosts Udinese in Saturday's other game.
Sampdoria is trying to hold onto fourth place and they can lock it up with a win against Napoli at home, while Palermo is two points back and needs to beat Atalanta to have a chance at finishing in the top four.
Fiorentina won't be returning to European play and they visit Bari, Bologna secured its safety last weekend and travels to Cagliari, Catania hosts Genoa and Parma entertains Livorno.
